All work above by David Hockney
David Hockney is an English artist that has created a wide array of art in his lifetime. In 2011 he was voted the most influential British artist of all time.
What I love the most about his work is the way he braids together simplicity and intricacy.
You can check out more of his work on his site here.
For this exercise I wanted to take the style of David Hockney and create drawings of my own.
I worked in graphite pencil, colored pencil, and inktense water soluble pencils.
I also used Jolly X-BIG Pencils, which are really nice colored pencils for the price. I worked on regular drawing paper - 11" x 14".
I'm always excited by the unlikely, never by ordinary things. - David Hockney
Here are two pieces I did for this lesson, unfortunately they didn't make it to vimeo due to my hard drive failing.
