For the best results with Gel Transfers make sure you use GEL MATTE MEDIUM. There are multiple brands that work, but it needs to be GEL, not just matte medium.
On days when you really don't feel like thinking about what you should paint you can start off with a transferred image and go from there.
For this exercise I did multiple transfers on a sheet of 9" x 12" Strathmore 400 Series Paper. I then went in with a Woody stabilo pencil and outlined the transferred images. I then added layers of paint. I continued to add paint and details until I felt content with the finished piece.
After the piece was finished I went ahead an added a layer of wax to the painting, this might be something you want to do, too!
“Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.” ~John Lubbock
